Peer-to-Peer Donations with Zcash 🛡️💰

Free2Z lets creators publish a Zcash address for direct peer-to-peer donations. The wallet transfer is outside Free2Z's payment processing, but privacy depends on the address and wallet options selected by the sender and creator.

Why Zcash? 🤔​

Zcash supports transparent and shielded address types. Shielded transactions can hide transaction details from the public blockchain, but not every transaction is shielded and no wallet can remove every operational risk.

🛡️ Privacy Matters

Zcash can provide strong privacy when both sides use compatible shielded addresses and a wallet that supports them. It does not guarantee that a sender's identity is hidden from a recipient or from every observer. Check the address type before paying, and treat an encrypted memo as readable by its recipient. Free2Z does not process the direct wallet transfer.

How it Works ⚙️​

For Creators:​

  • Simply Post Your Zcash Address: No "connecting" wallets here. Just add your own Zcash public address to your Free2Z profile and you're set. Start receiving support directly to your wallet from your supporters all over the world.

For Supporters:​

  • Support Directly: Use the creator's Zcash address to send support from your wallet without a Free2Z login. Whether the transaction is shielded or publicly visible depends on the address type and wallet settings.

Transaction Completion:​

  • Direct, Then Confirmed: The donation hits the creator's Zcash address directly. Review the transaction privacy provided by your wallet before sending.
💌 Encrypted Memos

Some Zcash wallets support encrypted memos. The Support widget lets a supporter write an optional memo to a shielded address; the creator can read it, and Free2Z never does. Zcash sent to a creator never carries a Free2Z instruction — the only Zcash Free2Z itself processes is a purchase of 2Z platform credits.
