We at Zingo Labs are excited to share the developments that mark the beginning of a new era in the Zcash ecosystem. With the recent completion of the ZeWIF and Zaino milestones, and the launch of our Chasqui secure messaging prototype, we reaffirm our commitment to innovate and radically transform the Zcash approach.
What's Changing?
Historically, the Zcash infrastructure has relied on Zcashd, a legacy software based on a Bitcoin fork and written in C++. This system, while pioneering in its time, has become obsolete, limiting the ability to expand and incorporate new ideas due to its technical rigidity.
The answer to these challenges is materialized in a decisive technological evolution: the change to the use of Rust, a modern and secure programming language. This change not only improves the efficiency and security of the system, but also opens the door to much broader collaboration within the community.
Zcash 2025: An Integral Paradigm
Our ambitious project, called Zcash 2025 (or in some circles), focuses on three key pillars:
- Zallet
- Zaino
- Zebra
This new modular architecture is designed to break down the bottlenecks of traditional technology. By breaking out of the constraints of Zcashd, we project a multiplication in the capacity for innovation, allowing more specialists to collaborate and contribute new ideas without the barriers of the past.
Among the innovations we are promoting are the following:
💰 Scalable and unleashed payments: Systems that offer faster and more efficient transactions.
🗳️ Advanced voting and consensus mechanisms: Towards more participatory and fair governance.
🔐 Robust privacy systems: Implementation of Nym's mixnet technology to protect each user's identity and data.
🛡️ Secure and decentralized communication: With our Chasqui prototype, we open the door to a new form of interaction that combines zero-knowledge proof-based payments (Zcash payment) and messaging with full user control.

Towards a More Collaborative Future
This commitment to a new technological paradigm is also an organizational change. By replacing Zcashd, we removed an obstacle that limited our capacity and opened the opportunity for dozens of developers to join the project. This multiplier approach will allow our capabilities to innovate and improve the system to grow exponentially.
Simply put, we are creating an environment where every participant can contribute to the core of development, accelerating the evolution of Zcash and paving the way towards a truly decentralized and robust ecosystem.
This strategic bet promises not only to upgrade the system, but to reinvent it in a way that is more open, scalable and ready to face the challenges of the future in the blockchain world.
