The Zcashd Deprecation Project Needs Coherence
In my opininion Zcashd deprecation is too uncertain.
We don't know how long the whole project is predicted to take, do we?
We don't know which necessary components of it will occur in which order, or how long they will take.
We don't know where to look for information on the project.
We don't know who to ask about the project.
In my opinion the project needs a single manager.
The Manager must:
- be dedicated exclusively to this effort
- monitor all relevant sources of truth
- know all contributors
- track the state of each
- coordinate contributors to prevent redundancies
- know all necessary milestones
- be available to answer questions about deprecation
- be paid for successful completion of unambiguous progress towards the goal
The time to invest in a such a role is now.
