The wait is over! Zingo! Wallet is now available in version v.1.3.0, with a number of improvements and fixes.
Faster synchronization with ShardTree
Synchronization is an essential process for users to enjoy the benefits of Zcash. That's why we've been working on a new synchronization algorithm called ShardTree, which provides a much faster experience for Zingo! Wallet users.
In internal tests, syncing with ShardTree was 8 times faster than with our previous implementation. This means that users will have a better experience when using Zingo! Wallet. ShardTree is an important improvement. It makes our wallet faster, more reliable, and more secure.
View in the block explorer
Some users are curious to see what's being displayed when making a private transaction in Zcash, so we've added the View in Explorer feature. We wish you good luck with your search.
💡 Tap on the TXID in the transaction details to use the View in Block Explorer feature.
New server in the list
We have changed the default ZecWallet server to one of the new zcash-infra servers. This will improve performance when synchronizing your wallet.
If you want to use a different server, you can do so by tapping on "Custom" in the "Server" section of the settings.
For more information on servers, please read one of our articles. We will soon add an option to automatically switch servers.
Transaction Privacy Level
At Zingo! Wallet, privacy is our priority. That's why we offer options to shield or move available funds to the last shielded pool.
In this update, we have added a Privacy Level field that you can view before confirming the transaction.
Privacy levels are defined according to the type of transaction:
- Private: Tree to tree and orchard to orchard transactions are private because the sender, receiver, and amount of the transaction are not publicly disclosed.
- Amount Revealed: Sapling-to-sapling and orchard to orchard transactions disclose the amount of the transaction, but the sender and receiver remain private.
- Deshielded: Orchard or sapling to transparent pool transactions reveal the amount and recipient details.
💡This new feature allows you to have more control over your financial privacy; keeping funds shielded is the best option.
Improved Test Coverage
Over the past few months, we have made a number of improvements to Zingo! Wallet, including new features and bug fixes. In addition, we have significantly increased our test coverage, making our code more robust against bugs and crashes.
This is an important step in ensuring the quality and reliability of Zingo! Wallet, providing users with a safer and more reliable experience.
