It’s easy to say Zcash is bad. Many authoritarians would have you believe it's one and the same with drug dealing, money laundering, or terrorism. People entrenched in the current financial system call cryptocurrency rat poison squared and contrary to the interests of civilization.
What if we say crypto is neutral? After all, money is neutral, neither good nor bad. Neutral is a neutral word. Who ever got mad at neutral?
But I think it’s possible to go a step further. Zcash is good!
In fact, giving in secret is biblical. The ultimate arbiter of goodness endorses private giving in Matthew 6:3-4 - “When you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret.”
What better instrument for this?
If you give with a credit card, the giving is not done in secret. It’s not secret from financial institutions, data brokers, and machine learning AI systems.
If you give with Paypal/Venmo/Cash app, same thing.
If you give with paper cash, that’s better, but you have to physically deliver the cash. Someone might see you, and cameras are everywhere.
If you give with a paper check, 1990 called, and they want their checks back. Plus your name or company is likely on the check.
If you give with Bitcoin or Ethereum, every step you take on chain is recorded publicly, forever. Analytics tools are growing in power every day and making discovery of information trivial.

Then I think you’ll understand.
Because Zcash is good.
