In some corner of my memory, I keep images of Colonia Tovar, a place that seems to have been plucked from a fairy tale and planted in the mountains of the state of Aragua.

Colonia Tovar is located about 65 kilometers southwest of Caracas, in the coastal mountain range. Its privileged location, surrounded by mountains and forests, makes it a perfect refuge for those seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The cobblestone streets, traditional German-style houses and colorful details transport us to another time. It is as if the clock had stopped there, allowing us to breathe a different air, more leisurely and full of history.

The Colonia Tovar is a living testimony of the legacy of the German settlers who decided to make Venezuela their new home. Despite historical changes and world tensions, this corner remains a place where culture, nature and history intertwine.

One day in May, I decided to go to this amazing place to celebrate my birthday and take a tour of the most popular tourist sites, here I will tell you about some of them:

The Tree House

Deep in the forest, among leaves that whisper secrets and branches that intertwine like old friends, lies the Tree House. It is a magical place, built in the branches of a centennial tree. Access is through a bridge of ropes and boards, as if we were crossing into a world of fairy tales. From there, tourists can take pictures, admire nature and feel like explorers in search of hidden treasures. Don't you think it's exciting?

💡This spectacular tree house is built 28 meters high in a 200+ year old cedar tree.

Hydrangea Garden

Upon entering, we are greeted by a sea of hydrangeas of all colors: blue, pink, white and violet. The flowers, with their large, fluffy clusters, look like giant pompoms decorating the landscape. The scent is soft and sweet, a fragrance that envelops us and invites us to relax.

We walk along well-kept paths, lined with hydrangeas that stand as guardians of the garden. Each step reveals new combinations of colors and shapes, and I can't help but marvel at the beauty and diversity of these plants. It is as if each flower has its own personality, contributing to a lively and vibrant mosaic.

🌺The Hydrangea Garden is, without a doubt, one of the most charming treasures of Colonia Tovar. It is a testament to the beauty that can emerge when nature and human care come together in perfect harmony.

My Kabrita

What really makes My Kabritas special is the opportunity to interact with the goats. Visitors can get up close to the pens, pet these friendly animals and learn about their care and feeding. It's a fun and educational experience, especially for the little ones, who enjoy watching the goats run around and play.

They sell goat cheese, the varieties are many: from fresh and soft cheese to cured cheese with more intense flavors. Each bite is a delight that reflects the care and dedication with which these products are made. In addition, goat's milk is another treasure to be found here. Rich and nutritious, it is perfect for those looking for healthy and tasty alternatives.

So, after this tour of Colonia Tovar, with its charming corners, delicious gastronomy and exciting activities, I can't help but invite you to visit it. This place is a true hidden treasure in the Venezuelan mountains, where history and nature intertwine to offer a unique experience.

😌Colonia Tovar is more than a tourist destination; it is a place where time seems to stand still and life is enjoyed at a different pace.
