HCPP24 keeps moving forward, and this second day rewarded us with some very valuable conferences.
Today we talked about valuable and important topics, such as: the importance of private money, laws and cryptocurrencies (very important topic), Assange and his message, cultural anarchism, Open Source as a weapon, free software as a tool for privacy and security, the dangers of KYC, and two of my favorite lectures of the day.
1) The legacy of 40 years of Linux, where the panel of speakers shared their vision about the growing importance of developing and creating apps for Linux. I participated in this discussion, as I belong to several Linux user communities, but they are anti cryptocurrency, a total contradiction! And well... we talked about it for a long time.
And 2) How to be a Digital Crypto Nomad, where my head exploded, understanding that we can move, be part of projects and communities, and avoid excessive tax burdens, taking advantage of the benefits of being a citizen of different parts of the world. A very interesting topic! I think all of us who use technology and the Internet on a daily basis should at least once in our lives consider moving... we are not trees!
Today we continued networking, giving Zcash stickers to all new acquaintances, and we met a guy who works in cyber security, son of Venezuelans, with 20 years living in Switzerland. He spent some time refreshing his Spanish, talking with us, and we were analyzing the political history of Latin America and the rest of the world. Valuable dissertation, which also gave Aura and me several lessons.
We met a local girl from the Czech Republic, a school teacher and cryptocurrency enthusiast. We spent a long time talking about how is the education about blockchain, AI and digital money in schools here. They are already starting to talk about Bitcoin! Although there is not yet full or mass adoption.
The closing of the day.
Networking pays off! One of the speakers who was talking about Linux and free software approached Aura and I and invited us to a private dinner at the apartment of someone from the Dark-Fi project. I didn't know who it was, but the truth is that this invitation allowed us to get away from the event venue, board the wonderful Prague streetcar network and get to know, even if only for a short time and at night, the center of Prague. Wonderful city!
We arrived at the apartment, it was only for 20 people, ate, talked, and at midnight we went back to our hotel, to prepare this summary, and a video on the Zcast channel.
Tomorrow we want to close the day with a flourish! There will surely be words of farewell, lots of emotion, brotherhood and camaraderie, and Aura and I will be there to tell you everything that happens.
