On past May 28, the first official meeting of Club Zcash Barcelona was held, an initiative that seeks to expand the presence and use of Zcash among entrepreneurs, professionals, and local businesses.
But before I tell you the details of this fun but important first meeting, I'm going to tell you what the Zcash Clubs initiative is all about.
As of today, there are three Zcash Clubs: Club Zcash Caracas, led by @yoditarx; Club Zcash Querétaro, led by @palmarzk; and Club Zcash Barcelona, led by Aura Brito and myself. We are not only active members of Zcash and technology enthusiasts, but we also host Zcast, the Zcash podcast in Spanish, and we have our own brands and educational initiatives.
As you can see, there are already Zcash Clubs in different countries, with different cultures and different realities, but with one thing in common: there are people with financial and technological needs. Because privacy is for everyone.
In this context, the idea of Zcash Clubs emerged, an initiative proposed by the core team of the Zcash community in Spanish, to encourage people from all over the world who want to start meeting and organizing events around Zcash, its technology, privacy, and everything related to the world of digital security, tech activism, and the cypherpunk movement.
If you are reading this and want to start a Zcash Club in your area, it's very easy! Just read this short guide and contact Zcash in Spanish for a brief overview of how to run your Club. This is a completely open source and voluntary initiative, so anyone can have the opportunity (if they commit to it) to create and lead a Zcash Club.

Returning to the Zcash Club Barcelona, I can say that we are in a city with enormous potential to promote not only Zcash, but also privacy, to educate people about this whole movement, and to attract not only users who use ZEC, but also developers, investors, etc.
But starting from scratch is hard work.
That's why Aura and I, since we've been living in this important city, have taken on the task of attending local events, meetups of different communities, cryptocurrencies, marketing, entrepreneurship, and all those spaces where we think Zcash can fit in.
And so we decided to organize the 1st Meetup. We hope to hold this event monthly to teach people about Zcash, its origins, its wallets, its use cases, and how we can all protect our data, our identity, and our finances with Zcash.

On 5/28/25, we laid the first stone. We hope to build a beautiful, large, open, and inclusive space so that more people can discover Zcash.
