Nate asked some interesting questions about Free2Z. Here we will answer them.
Site Storage
Each user owns their own storage. Files can be private, subscribers-only or public. So, with a browser session or API token, the user is able to access the files that they are allowed to access. There is an OpenAPI spec that can be used to retrieve all of the data that the user is allowed to: https://free2z.com/api/schema/redoc/. IPFS sounds interesting; but, how should it be integrated with Free2Z specifically? The idea has been floated but no concrete implementation ideas have so far emerged. Open Source
Free2Z is not currently open source. We use a monorepo which contains frontend, backend, and infrastructure as code among other things. We may soon open source the frontend and the docs. The backend would be trickier but still possible. If someone is serious about contributing, we can easily grant access and set them up. If there is a lot of demand to open source the code, we could prioritize it. But, it's currently not perceived as a priority as it would create additional overhead for the continuous delivery. Maybe it will make more sense when the product matures more.

Zcash Integration
- Donate to Creators on Free2Z
Creators can add a Zcash address to their profiles and pages for direct, private, peer-to-peer donations without the donor logging in. This is essentially just a simple directory with user-friendly rendering of the address. This allows people to raise money without KYC and for people to donate without logging in. This was the original motivation of the site.
- Comment with Zcash memo
This allows people to comment privately without logging in.
- Boost page with Zcash memo
This allows people to promote zPages on Free2Z without logging in.
- Buy 2Zs
2Zs are the digital credits required to do stuff on the site - AI prompts, livestreams, comments, votes, donations, subscriptions and more. They represent 1 penny of revenue. We are working on finalizing the terms, conditions and documentation; but, we will soon be able to present 2Zs as a measure of revenue sharing where qualified creators will be able to monetize in a fair and transparent manner. This will be a more "traditional" way to monetize than the direct, p2p Zcash way and will require traditional compliance measures such as KYC.
Usage Limitations
You can currently create as many zPages as you want. There are minimum-2Z limitations on using livestreams and some things cost 2Zs. If people somehow find a way to abuse the site, we will make changes.
Comments and moderation
Zcash comments are unmoderated except that they cost shielded Zcash which is a certain form of moderation in itself. Comments with 2Zs are scored by the AI to detect spam and scams. We currently grant 33 tuzis to new users; some have tried to use these to make scam comments. When the AI detects these, the user is banned and the comments are hidden. A 2Z represents a penny - this has so far been enough to deter most nefarious activities. As we grow, we will inevitably have to evolve moderation.
Conclusion
Free2Z is under active development and we need feedback and collaboration. If you know of anyone who wants to work on it, we can set them up with access to the code and pay in Zcash for contributions. Feel free to reach out with any suggestions on the above channels.
