Math is the mechanic. Not a slogan — the literal design rule. Here is VOLTA:

What it is

In FORGE, arithmetic is the throttle on a smelting chain. In COUNTERPOISE, a brass balance physically is the equals sign. In MATH NINJA you slice only what fills the order. The sum is not a toll you pay to play — it is the control you play with.

Twenty-five games ship in the box. More are coming.

Why it might interest this crowd

  • No advertising. Not tasteful ads. None.
  • No analytics, no tracking, no telemetry. The App Store privacy card reads Data Not Collected, because nothing is collected.
  • No account. There is no sign-in, and nothing to create.
  • Nothing to buy inside a game. No currency, no lives, no unlocks, no timers you can pay to skip.
  • It works offline. All twenty-five games install with the app. Aeroplane mode changes nothing — verified on a clean install with no network at all.

Every player gets their own level

The difficulty follows the player. Someone fluent is given harder work; someone struggling is quietly given easier work until they are succeeding again. It is never announced, and there is no level to pick.

Answering quickly earns more. Answering slowly costs nothing — most of the games put no clock on the thinking at all. A countdown that kills you and a bonus that accrues are the same signal with opposite valence, and only one of them is worth building.

When an answer is wrong

The sum is completed on screen and held there for as long as you want to look at it. No red cross. No buzzer. Getting it wrong is the moment the game has something to teach, so nothing is hurried past.

Every game has its own generated key art, computed from the pack id, so no two
look alike:

The catalogue

The range

Addition and subtraction in depth — regrouping, and across zero — times tables, long multiplication, division, fractions, and the meaning of equality. Most of that ground is grades 1 to 5, and that is where the collection concentrates.

It is a range, not a ceiling. It starts at adding within ten with all the time in the world, and it keeps climbing for as long as you do. Adults are welcome, and not only as supervisors.
