🎵 Language in Melody #1 — School
In Corpán, school isn’t just a word — it’s a celebration of achievement, expressed in multiple languages, each with its own melody.
The natural intonation and rhythm of each language comes through on your device's local TextToSpeech system.
We use those unique patterns as the foundation for our music.
1. The Phrases
Japanese
新しい学校でのあなたの成功に乾杯しましょう!
atarashii gakkoo de no anata no seekoo ni kanpai shi masho!
“Let’s raise a toast to your success in the new school!”
Chinese
让我们为你在新学校的成功举杯!
ràng wǒ men wèi nǐ zài xīn xué xiào de chéng gōng jǔ bēi!
“Let’s raise a toast to your success in the new school!”
German
Lasst uns auf deinen Erfolg an der neuen Schule anstoßen!
“Let’s toast to your success at the new school!”
Arabic
لنرفع كأسًا لنجاحك في المدرسة الجديدة!
“Let’s raise a glass to your success in the new school!”
2. Listening for the Language’s Music
- Japanese: Soft rising tone on atarashii, then gentle downward fall — smooth and polite.
- Chinese: Tonal dance with rises and dips (ràng, xīn, xué), lively and memorable.
- German: Steady phrasing with emphasis on Erfolg and anstossen
- Arabic: Flowing, elongated vowels with wave-like pitch patterns.
3. Speech to MIDI
We record/extract the pitch contour from each spoken phrase and map it into MIDI.
This MIDI file captures the exact rise and fall of the original intonation.
🎹 Fun fact: The Japanese phrase’s pitch line looks like a slow descent with ornamental rises — almost like a koto melody.
4. Composing Around the Phrase
• Choose instruments that reflect the phrase’s mood.
• Keep the rhythm true to natural speech.
• Layer harmonies or textures that help the melody feel complete but still authentic.
- Japanese: keys + soft pads.
- Chinese: guzheng + airy flute.
- German: warm strings + electric piano.
- Arabic: oud + percussive bass.
5. Why This Works for Memory
Preserving actual intonation means learners hear the real sound DNA of each language.
When you hum the tune later, pronunciation, rhythm, and meaning all return.
6. Listen & Learn
- 🎤 Sung phrases (all 4 languages)
- 🎼 MIDI melodys (each language)
- 🥁 rhythm accompaniment
