Native American history spans thousands of years and encompasses many different tribes from South America to North America. The earliest known inhabitants of the Americas are thought to have been hunter-gatherers who crossed the Bering Strait from Asia around 15,000 years ago. In the centuries that followed, many different tribes developed unique cultures, languages, and traditions.
In North America, Native American tribes included the Apache, Cherokee, Choctaw, Comanche, Iroquois, Navajo, Sioux, and many more. These tribes developed complex societies, with established political and spiritual systems. They also developed intricate systems of trade, with goods like corn and tobacco being exchanged between tribes.
In South America, Indigenous tribes included the Amazonian tribes, the Arawak, the Inca, and the Maya. These tribes developed their own languages and spiritual beliefs and made great advances in agriculture, architecture, and pottery.

Native American history has been marked by both tragedy and triumph. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, many Native American tribes were forcibly relocated, their lands taken away, and their cultures and languages suppressed. In recent decades, however, Native American tribes have made significant strides in reclaiming their cultural heritage and fighting for their rights.
