what are narwhals?
Narwhals are a species of whale distinguished by a long, straight tusk that projects from the front of its head. Narwhals are considered a "medium-sized" whale, reaching lengths of up to 5 meters (16 feet). They inhabit the Arctic Ocean, typically near the edges of sea ice and can be found in small groups that are often separate from other whale species. Narwhal's tusk is actually a long tooth that can grow up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) in length, and contains millions of nerve endings that are believed to be sensitive to pressure and other electrical signals.
