He is usually depicted as hostile to humans and is often blamed for destruction caused by natural disasters. Godzilla is usually portrayed as a force of nature that represents humanity's reckless misuse of technology and disregard for nature. The movie series has spawned several spin-offs and has served as a source of inspiration for a wide array of media, including literature and various forms of art. Godzilla has become an important symbol of post-atomic horror and is recognized as one of the most iconic movie monsters of all time. Godzilla has been featured in numerous parodies and some of its iconic scenes have been recreated in popular culture. Through its commensurate representation in various mediums, Godzilla has become a significant part of modern popular culture, and has also served as a unifying symbol for Japan’s wartime experiences.
