This effort comes from the Brave team and ECC, the organization behind ZEC, which partnered in September 2023 to bring Zcash to users of the world's most private browser wallet. Since then, efforts have been made to release the feature allowing users to use the private money without leaving the Brave Crypto wallet.
However, yesterday the Brave team announced that users can now make transparent transactions directly in the wallet. This milestone has been reached, and the team from Brave, together with ECC, is working hard to also bring shielded transactions directly to Brave.
Bear in mind that for now, only desktop users can benefit from this feature (latest version extension), and soon Android and iOS users can have ZEC on their devices. Brave browser is not just a wallet but a hub of private tools that allow users to connect to the internet, navigate without trackers, use crypto on the go, and, best of all, earn back the users' need for their privacy rights.
Brave browser is the unique free tool that actually sees the users as real people, not a product to make money from, and shares fairly their wealth when users participate in their content creators program, rewarding them for watching paid ads, which are not intrusive, as users can choose to see them, distributing wealth in an equal manner.
Associating with Zcash to bring ZEC to their wallet ecosystem is a major milestone as it will allow private money to be used in a private browser, and users can choose (when available) if they want to show their financial wealth using transparent addresses or not using shielded address payments. Well done Brave, as this is a much-needed cryptocurrency in your storage.
