It's frightening how bold hackers can be these days. They are so audacious that aren't afraid to breach into the FBI recruiting job page and take it as hostage. Yes, they did it!!
A group called ShinyHunters have seized the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) jobs page and collected more than 5,000 in files that are threatening to expose them and also accused the agency of false accusing the group and disinformation. They claim the FBI for years have lied about the group and demand a retractation or else there will be consequences.
They are demanding one of the most powerful governmental intelligence security bureau in the world to retract themselves about the group or get a hit and more than 2T of Data can be exposed. They are dangerously bold and not afraid of the consequences for now.
The FBI website that got hit and now in possession of the group is temporarily down and the agency is working to get it on using all the necessary means. Of course they won't surrender but the group is holding them very tight and will be difficult to find and get them accountable.
This is a new world where criminals seize a governamental page and demand things without fearing repercussions of their acts. ShinyHunters knock out the Feds and are asking to get a retractation about the group and accusing them food many things among them disinformation.
Will the Feds agree with ShinyHunters and make a public retractation? I doubt that and I'm sure right now they are organizing a full strike response to the group. I'm excited to see what comes next as this is far from the end.
