In the face of a catastrophic event like the one being experienced in Gaza, involving Hamas and Israel, many innocent lives are lost in the pursuit of targeting terrorists. The suffering endured by civilians is extreme, and it is here that we witness with sorrow how truly malevolent and unscrupulous humanity can be.

The cruelty of one human being toward another is so profound that we often pause to think, "This is why God is not with us, because if He were, He would indeed exterminate all of civilization, as He did when He showed His wrath by saving only a few in Noah's Ark."

It is easy to observe, unperturbed, the killings happening from a distance and label people as "terrorists," such as Hamas, while forgetting that governments are also guilty when they indiscriminately kill innocent people, using the excuse that they are pursuing terrorists who invaded their territory and kidnapped their citizens.

People are dying in Gaza, innocent civilians, individuals who have nothing to do with Hamas, are being bombarded relentlessly by Israeli forces. Children and women suffer the most from the bombings, and the world watches this catastrophe unfold. To make matters worse, some supply weapons to both Israel and Hamas, all for the sake of a corporate society that profits from wars and the deaths of innocents.

I do not support any form of violence or ethnic cleansing, which regrettably occurs worldwide, often under the serene gaze of the United Nations. Not only today in Gaza but also in various parts of the world, with a greater focus on African regions, such as what happened in Rwanda years ago.

Today, innocent people are perishing in Gaza and Israel due to unchecked ambition for land. Both Israelis and Palestinians surely do not support this kind of violence perpetuated by the government or even by the radical Hamas, because in the end, it is the people who have no connection to wars that suffer.

God gave the Jewish people a gift and promised them a promised land, but nowhere in the Bible does it say that they should wage war or massacre innocents to obtain it. A different approach is needed for this conflict, or we will continue to see innocent lives lost.

There must be more humanity between the parties involved to understand that only innocents are suffering due to power-hungry and ambitious political regimes that refuse to relinquish power and are willing to do anything, even at the cost of innocent lives.

The international community needs to play a more profound role in such conflicts because what truly happens in them is the annihilation of people justified under the pretext of self-defense (for example, Hamas attacked Israel first, and now they are only defending themselves), but at the moment, they are indiscriminately killing civilians, many of them children. Where is the UN, which played a role in the establishment of the state of Israel, to mediate these killings?

It is time to look at this catastrophe as humans, not as politicians, or we will witness ethnic cleansing while remaining unperturbed by a "justified" military incursion, which is, in reality, a long-awaited desire of the Israeli government. Let's be human and save innocent lives.
