Three years of farming users, and now, no airdrop? What were people expecting? ZKSync has just proven it's a scam.
It's scandalous how many crypto projects today have strayed from the original spirit of airdrops. Who doesn't remember the UNI token airdrop? It was arguably the most decent and honest of them all. Uniswap only required users to have made a single transaction on the exchange to be eligible for the UNI token.
Nowadays, crypto projects that promise airdrops often do the opposite. They exploit the community and deceive people by using techniques like zk-rollups, which offer greater privacy and reduced fees, merely to attract more community members. In reality, these projects are schemes. They use obscure criteria to prevent rightful recipients from receiving the deserved airdrop.
I've followed some airdrops, but some projects, due to their complexity and track record, fail spectacularly and reveal themselves as scams even before launching their cryptocurrency. ZKSync has always been a dubious project, making it clear that only some insiders would receive the airdrop. It makes no sense that addresses with transaction history in both testnet and mainnet are still not eligible for the airdrop.
Reports scattered across the internet, with evidence on X, show that after three long years, the majority were left out. The ZKSync team keeps changing the criteria (a clear mess aimed at benefiting insiders) and, at the first opportunity, they dump their tokens on the market. Some of the evidence is scandalous, as mentioned earlier.

Some might say, "Oh no, they do this because there are dishonest users farming projects with multiple accounts," but projects today can overcome this by using appropriate tools. Additionally, one of the reasons users engage in farming is due to the difficulty of the projects. But ZKSync went too far: three years of promises, a ton of requirements for obtaining the airdrop, and in the end, only a few received it!
Therefore, if you want to get involved in airdrop farming in the future, thoroughly analyze the project and its market seriousness. Projects like ZKSync, Venom, Sei, and others are dying in the market because they were always scams with obscure objectives. The good thing is that the market doesn't forgive, and they are gradually disappearing.
