A worldwide crackdown between enforcement agencies of 12 countries have taken actions to arrest 4 members of the infamous ransomware group, Lockbit. The ransomware tribe is responsible to several attacks around the world which have caused tons of cash paid in ransom most in cryptocurrency payments.
The agencies worked as one to arrest this 4 critical pieces on the Lockbit group in France, the United kingdom and Spain. The four individual where important part on the scheme with one of them controlling the infra that facilitated most of the attacks around the globe.
Working globally, those four still a minimal number on the Lockbit ransomware group but also a key part on them as they were the "masterminds" behind the important tasks on the operations carried by them.
This step may look like just another bust by the authorities but this is huge as the ransomware group were acting like no one could catch them and using that as leverage to conduct more and each time more sophisticated attacks against their victims. The cooperation between the law enforcement agencies is opening a new reality to ransomware group that crime doesn't pay off, it can last bit when you get caught you start regretting in all did wrong.
