The prospect of a third world war looms, and the repercussions could be catastrophic, not only for the countries involved but also for the entire world, as they are not isolated.
The heightened state of tension in the world, coupled with this massive drone attack on Israel from Tehran, is a response to Israel's recent attack on the embassy in Damascus, which resulted in the deaths of over 15 Iranian government officials. Therefore, yesterday's attack is seen as vengeance for Israel's actions.
What's interesting to note is that while Israel's attack targeted only government officials from Tehran, Tehran's response may have resulted in civilian casualties as well. However, the Israeli government claims that all missiles sent by Tehran were intercepted. In reality, in times of war, much is hidden from the public eye.
Ballistic data indicates that only 7 missiles sent by Tehran were successful in reaching Israeli territory, but reports on the accuracy of this data differ, and it's no surprise that Israel would not openly admit to being successfully attacked.
The coming days will be filled with tension, and the question remains: will Israel retaliate, and what repercussions will this have domestically and internationally? These questions will be answered extensively, but the effects of such actions remain uncertain.
