I live in Mozambique, and we had elections here on October 10, 2024. It is here where things started to spiral after the opposition, led by the independent presidential candidate Venâncio Mondlane, announced two days after the elections that he had won and was planning to create his transition government. I am not here to judge or decide if he's right or not, but since he announced this, things aren't like they were before.
His lawyer was killed in one of the most popular avenues in the country, shot dead with more than eight bullets! He was accompanied by his driver, and this is where things took a new, serious path. People believe these individuals were killed by the current regime to show their power and influence. In retaliation, the opposition leader appealed to the people to protest across Mozambique, and the country responded. Mobilizations began nationwide to "let their voices be heard," and chaos ensued!

Protests quickly turned into vandalism and theft. Many organized protests are being labeled as terrorism by the police, and people are being shot indiscriminately. We are living in complete chaos. Borders are being shut down, and while some are taking this lightly (even I did at first), it is not a joke. Things are getting out of control. Living in an African country controlled by a few powerful individuals is not secure, as these leaders use brute force when they feel threatened. I am seeing more people get shot daily, and this is what worries me the most!
I have kids, and I want to protect them from this chaos. Revolutions may have positive outcomes (if the protesters achieve their goals), but they also bring negativity (when those in power use brute force to maintain their positions). Things can escalate quickly—people can die, suffer from hunger, and wars can break out during these moments. Foreign forces are also involved, seeking their piece of the cake. I can't stand aside anymore and am asking the crypto community to help me keep my family safe. I urgently need support to buy groceries and stock up as prices are rising more than ever.
For example, basic foods like rice, sugar, oil, beans, and peanuts have doubled in price. This crisis isn’t ending soon, and I need help to secure enough food and medicine for 6-12 months. I heard as a kid that revolutions are courageous acts, but I never thought I would live to see one. Today, I am here, unprepared for it, and asking my crypto "bros" to help me out.
