We are losing authenticity as individuals in this digital era, where everything revolves around personas we create online, forgetting to engage with each other on a human level.
We've forgotten moral values, and everything boils down to likes and shares. Today, people are so connected online that they're simultaneously disconnected socially.
Our disconnection from the social world is breeding individuals who no longer care for one another. An evident example is when accidents occur; instead of helping, people choose to film the incident to share on their online platforms, seeking likes! Life is in chaos, and society is slowly withering away.
There needs to be more human connection in this digital age because if things continue this way, we'll reach a point where humanity will be entirely lost. We'll have a society that's unfriendly, antisocial, and completely detached. Human connection is crucial for the world to continue progressing and developing, but in this scenario, we're undoubtedly heading towards a digital abyss.
This is detrimental because online bullying-related suicides are increasing, human trafficking cases are rising, and cyber theft by hackers is on the rise because people are confined to their digital worlds, afraid to report such cases.
My manifesto calls for a change in this scenario, inviting people to try living more socially. If you're accustomed to living on the screen all the time, give yourself time to interact socially. Disconnect from the computer and go out for a walk or simply meet people. We're becoming slaves to the digital era, and that's not good.
