Over the past two weeks, ZecHub has continued improving ZEC Bounties, expanding community participation, producing Zcash content, maintaining ecosystem tools, and coordinating across the DAO and broader Zcash community.

ZEC Bounties
ZEC Bounties received several updates over the past two weeks as contributor activity continued to increase across the platform.
New UI themes, including dark mode, are now available, while the platform has also introduced badges that contributors can choose to display publicly on their profiles. Profiles and badges remain private by default unless users opt in.
Contributor participation has continued to grow as well. After launching on testnet in February and moving to mainnet in June, ZEC Bounties is now approaching 60 contributors, with both the number of contributors and overall submissions increasing.
As activity grows, improving communication between contributors and reviewers has become an important focus. One planned improvement is a two-way communication system that would allow contributors to respond directly to reviewer feedback, potentially alongside notifications.
Teams Are Now Live
The new Teams feature is now live, with Zcash Turkey becoming the first external team on the platform.
Teams can independently fund wallets, create tasks, manage contributions, and operate their own bounty programs through ZEC Bounties. The goal is to eventually make the platform available to more Zcash communities and ecosystem projects, creating more opportunities beyond ZecHub’s own bounty program.
Preliminary documentation has also been added, with more guidance planned around how individual teams can manage their bounty programs and payment processes.
Bounty Funding and Contributor Earnings
The meeting also addressed how we manage our limited ZEC allocation as the price of ZEC changes.
Because we operate with a limited amount of funding, bounty amounts may need to be adjusted as ZEC’s market value changes to keep spending sustainable and predictable.
Despite individual bounty adjustments following the increase in ZEC’s price, the meeting noted that average contributor earnings have continued to increase as activity on ZEC Bounties grows.
Zcash India
The Zcash India proposal has passed, supporting the team’s work for the remainder of 2026.
The proposal will allow Jatin, Karan, Jayesh, and the rest of the team to continue developing the Zcash India community and its activities through the end of the year.
Zcash Content & ZEC Illustrated
We continued producing and publishing community content, including Zcash Shielded News and the Zcash Ecosystem Digest.
During August, the team produced, researched, and edited five editions of Zcash Shielded News, alongside educational articles and a ZEC Bounties tutorial video. Community communications also continued through Discord announcements, social content, moderation, SYNC meeting summaries and timestamps, X Spaces recordings published on YouTube, and community bridge maintenance.
We launched ZEC Illustrated, a dedicated account for Zcash-focused visual content. The project will focus on maintaining a consistent visual identity across posts, with future content being adapted more specifically for platforms such as X.
Wiki & Ecosystem Improvements
We continued updating our Wiki and working on tools and resources across the ecosystem.
Recent Wiki work included updates to the Ironwood shielded transactions card and network upgrade flowchart, fixes to the network upgrades dashboard and Markdown parser, and updates to Zcash Global Ambassadors resources.
We also added shielded DASH as a donation option. From our testing and discussion, there are interesting areas for further exploration between the two ecosystems, including FROST support and viewing keys on Dash.
Our work also included Crosslink branding and testnet participation, ZSA testnet exploration, and improvements across several developer tools. These included updates to the Ziggurat Crawler, Crosslink support for explorer tooling, and an extended viewing-key application with Ironwood and multi-account support.
On ZEC Bounties, we’ve also been working on private bounties, improved mobile responsiveness, new themes, Ironwood support, and security fixes.
Community Safety
During the SYNC, we discussed the need to be cautious when promoting new projects claiming connections to Zcash or technologies that are not yet available on mainnet.
In particular, we discussed projects making claims around Zcash Shielded Assets. ZSAs currently exist on testnet, not mainnet, so claims about native ZSA-style assets already operating on Zcash mainnet should be treated carefully and independently verified before being promoted.
We also reminded contributors to be cautious when opening PDF files from unknown or untrusted sources, as malicious PDFs can be used as an attack vector.
DAO Coordination & Community Collaboration
ZecHub DAO is participating in the NU7 scope polling process, alongside other community participants in the broader ecosystem poll.
We’ve also been coordinating with the Zcash Foundation and others around cross-community collaboration.
Over the past two weeks, we participated in a Space with the Dash community discussing exploits and DEXs, continued managing our bounty program and helping contributors with their tasks, and prepared for a presentation with Zcash Ghana around its developer residency program.
My First Zcash Workbook
We’re also moving forward with the My First Zcash workbook after delays over the past few months.
Our current priority is to complete the workbook itself. We plan to focus on the text while coordinating the design and graphics work between contributors, with the goal of making more progress during September.
During the discussion, additional ideas were proposed for potentially expanding My First Zcash into a dedicated website and other educational formats. Since the project belongs to Mass Adoption Alliance, any broader expansion would need to be discussed and coordinated with them.
Looking Ahead
Over the coming weeks, we’ll continue improving ZEC Bounties as participation grows, expand Teams and its documentation, move the My First Zcash workbook forward, produce new Zcash content, and continue our work across community tools and ecosystem collaboration.
With Teams now live and contributor activity continuing to increase, we’re also beginning to expand ZEC Bounties beyond our own bounty program, making it possible for more Zcash communities and projects to create opportunities for contributors.
