Over the past two weeks, we’ve seen significant activity across the ZecHub ecosystem, from new Wiki contributions and ZecBounties improvements to DAO-funded initiatives, community tools, and preparations for Zcash’s 10th anniversary.

We’ve also been making progress on ZecHub Wiki 3.0, improving contributor workflows, and expanding our educational resources.

ZecHub Wiki & Research

The Wiki continues to grow, with new research, guides, translations, and improvements contributed by community members.

Several pages were updated, including Shielded Labs, Community Projects, and resources covering ZEC in DeFi. Recent additions include:

  • Ledger Shielded ZEC Viewer: A new guide explaining how to view shielded ZEC using a Ledger device and its desktop application.

  • Shielded Coin Holder Voting: Research by Ankita explaining eligibility, balance proofs, and double-voting prevention without revealing shielded balances.

  • Cold Signing: An updated research article exploring cold-signing techniques and their role in Zcash.

  • Zaino vs. ZStreamer: A new benchmark comparison providing technical insights into both tools.

Additional improvements included standardized page formatting, updated navigation, broken-link fixes, and expanded documentation for using ZEC through protocols such as NEAR Intents and Maya Protocol.

Expanding Wiki Translations

Bloxster has continued improving our multilingual resources and introduced a new ZecHub Translation Quality team on ZecBounties.

The initiative combines AI-assisted translation with human review to improve accuracy, particularly for navigation menus, technical terminology, and glossary entries.

We’re inviting global ambassadors and native speakers to help review translations, with ZEC rewards available through dedicated bounties.

The goal is to make Zcash educational resources more accessible to communities worldwide while maintaining consistent translation quality.

ZecBounties Updates

Following a significant increase in task suggestions, pull requests, and new accounts, we introduced additional measures to improve platform stability and contributor management.

New accounts must now complete more than five tasks before submitting task suggestions, helping reduce spam and encourage contributors to build a consistent participation history.

These changes are intended to prioritize genuine contributions while making reviews more manageable.

Tron has also been working on backend improvements, bug fixes, and security enhancements. Recent platform updates include:

  • Bounty activity tracking: Improved visibility into task approvals and status changes.

  • Team management: A more interactive approval interface and visible team wallet addresses.

  • Bounty filtering: New options to filter tasks by reward range and team.

  • Security improvements: Backend fixes and a responsible disclosure process for reporting vulnerabilities.

We also want to recognize everyone who helped manage the increased workload, including Tron, Dismad, Dre, Inspire, and contributors who submitted security fixes.

As participation grows, our focus remains on improving the quality of contributions while keeping the platform accessible and sustainable.

DAO Governance & Community Funding

Several DAO proposals have progressed, supporting new initiatives across the Zcash ecosystem.

Zcash South Africa, led by Inspire, received approval for its proposal. The initiative plans to organize local meetups, educational activities, and community outreach, with additional video content and translations planned.

Funding was also approved for Elzz to participate in Confluence 2.0, where she plans to host a Zcash booth and conduct merchant onboarding activities.

Another approved proposal supports hackathon sponsorship, helping expand opportunities for developers and builders.

We also updated the DAO treasury dashboard to reflect recent funding decisions.

With several proposals approved recently, we’re considering a dedicated treasury discussion during an upcoming Sync meeting to review available resources and future priorities.

DAO Notifications

We’ve continued improving DAO communication through automation.

Vito developed an email notification system for new governance proposals, alongside a Discord bot that provides countdown reminders for proposals approaching their voting deadlines.

DAO members interested in receiving email updates can contact Vito to be added to the notification list.

ZecHub Wiki 3.0

Work on ZecHub Wiki 3.0 is progressing, with Vito developing a refreshed interface and improved navigation.

The current Wiki design has been in place for nearly two years. As our educational resources continue expanding, making information easier to discover has become increasingly important.

The redesign focuses on a more modern visual identity, clearer navigation, and a better reading experience.

Initial interface previews were shared during the call, and work is continuing on key pages before broader testing begins.

Developer Tools & Community Contributions

Several improvements were made to our community dashboards and development tools.

SnrDev contributed a redesign of the Namada governance dashboard, introducing updated styling and a more accessible interface.

Additional improvements were made to CodePulse, including better visualization of repository activity and pull request trends.

Blockster also developed scripts for monitoring broken links across ZecHub repositories. These results are now reflected in the Link Health dashboard, making it easier to identify documentation that needs attention.

These tools should help contributors discover maintenance tasks while giving us better visibility into repository activity and overall project health.

Supporting Hackathon Builders

We also welcomed Sasha from WebZero, who shared preparations for an upcoming hackathon scheduled for November 4–5.

Discussions focused on developer onboarding, documentation, testnet ZEC availability, and useful tools such as Create Zcash App and Zcash development resources.

Community members were encouraged to participate as mentors, judges, or ecosystem partners to help developers build on Zcash.

Zcash 10th Anniversary

With Zcash’s 10th anniversary approaching, we’ve been preparing content and community activities to celebrate the milestone.

Together with Kroy, we held brainstorming sessions focused on educational and promotional content for the main Zcash account.

Community celebrations also include the Ironwood Chess Tournament, scheduled for October 22, and the return of the Zcash community poker tournament, with ZEC prizes planned.

These activities are intended to bring the community together while celebrating a decade of Zcash development and privacy innovation.

What’s Next

Our priorities include continuing work on Wiki 3.0, improving ZecBounties moderation and security, expanding translation quality reviews, and supporting upcoming community initiatives.

We’re also looking at organizing a DAO treasury discussion to provide members with a clearer picture of available funding and future priorities.

With more contributors, projects, and educational resources entering the ecosystem, our focus is on making participation easier, improving coordination, and maintaining the quality of everything we publish and build.
