Let's start!
A few weeks ago I received a question on the "X" network that would make anyone nervous, even me! I'm usually calm and spontaneous. Sure, sometimes I overthink things, but it was a clear sign that the time had come.
Because I think I owe you a story, why was I mentioned there at ZconV as an “early adopter”? Well, things happened more or less like this.
Because I was experimenting and cooking....
It turns out that last August I wanted to make a gift to a very dear person, who I was told had an exquisite taste. His favorite cake, according to what his wife told me, was carrot cake. I looked up the recipe and set out to make it with a lot of love and care.
I hadn't baked a cake for a long time. Then I made a mistake in the measurement of the ingredients and adjusting at the end I made too much mixture for the gift I was going to give. So I baked it several times (I don't have big cakes pan anyway) and I announced to my neighbors that I was selling it. The response was quick and immediate, I sold it all! That's how I realized that my reputation as a good pastry chef, dedication and talking about what you do, will always be the best combination.
Almost without knowing it, my new line of business, @AntojitosBrujos, was born.
So I, who originally supported mostly gastronomic entrepreneurs to put their ideas and execution in order, why wouldn't I have put myself in service to my own purposes? It would be fun for sure!
But I thought: I need people to test all my creations. That is where the role of my friends from the Zcash community where I live, in Caracas, came in.
The day I met the Ambassador, Yoditar, that's where I took the first cookies I made. And to be congruent, since I had my Blogger profile in free2z and of course my Zingo wallet, from that day on I accepted Zec as a payment method.
I was adjusting the formulas and then I named them as "galletas de la feliZidad" —it mean hapiness cookies for zcashers—, because the combination they have with papelón (A tipe of solid brown sugar) and dark chocolate is one of the best that exist in life. It just makes you happy for sure.
After that, I practically made cookies and cakes every week, so my sisters -my biggest fans- encouraged me to name my new line of business. That's where the concept of what I really wanted to do came about. "Antojitos Brujos" is a bonfire with magical recipes that will bring you joy through the rescue of very particular flavors. They are ancestral potions that I have inherited and now we share with our customers.
My actual needs come in two parts
1. A more practical and professional stand mixer
So for me it means covering more market in terms of volume and geographical coverage. My laboratory/stove is in my kitchen, in my parents' house. Believe me, when I started I didn't even have an electric mixer and then, trading some zecs I had for the free2z posts and community sales in my products. I bought the first one I ever had in my life.
But now, I need something more professional. Something that optimizes my processes and gives me time to continue researching, documenting, writing and spreading the good that it is as entrepreneurs to diversify our payment methods for our customers, inside or outside the zcash community.
A stand mixer like this would be very useful for that....
2. A cell phone with more capacity to keep up with the new wallets
I wanted to be one of the first to try zashi wallet when I heard that it was a wallet project made by zcashers for zcashers. Of course I signed up for the waiting list on google play, but after its launch I realized that neither of the two cell phones I own would be able to install it without compromising the other functions of the phone.
So I asked my friend and favorite cookie-tester Edickson and he recommended me this model that can be useful for it and prevent me from falling behind in the technology that I want to keep pushing.
In total my budget to keep moving forward in everything I want, that is, my next step, is approximately four hundred and seventy dollars ($ 470). To many people that would be a joke. With such a rough economy as the one we have in Venezuela, for some sectors it is a derisory amount... For others, impossible to even dream of it.
Certainly through my work and my other sources of income I could reach that goal, but not so fast. And of course there are unforeseen events along the way, where you always have to choose for more pressing things.
But between all of us as an international community, we can support each other to achieve goals together and continue to promote this project.
And as I always tell my mentees...
