It's been a while since I've been here to give you an update on my mom's case.
For those of you who are reading this for the first time, you can read my previous posts by clicking here. This way you can find out what happened with my mom and why this campaign is happily coming to an end today.
My last update was in August. You can see it here.
From August to November my mom went through a tough chemotherapy process, in which she gradually lost her hair, but never her faith in God and her optimism. In fact, Marbelis, my mom, was the one who gave strength to all of us at home, my siblings and me.
Many times my siblings and I worried and stressed in silence, without her noticing, so as not to worry her; but she was the one who always gave us a smile and a word of encouragement.
Thus, the 3 months and the 8 chemo sessions passed. With diet, care, rest and a lot of faith, we reached November.
In November we went back to do the tests on my mother, and what a surprise!
The doctors were impressed: the tumor, which had initially measured 2.8 cm in diameter, was now only 0.2 cm. It had almost disappeared!
The doctors told us that thanks to my mom's good health, her body responded adequately to the treatment, with hardly any weakening from the chemotherapy.
What was the next step?
The removal of the tumor.
The operation date was set for 12/12/22, and after the anxious wait, the doctors gave us the good news: everything went well!
The lesion, or tumor, that my mother had in her left breast has been completely removed. As a precaution, 2 lymph nodes were also removed. And a new biopsy was done to totally rule out the presence of malignant cells in my mom's body.
Everything went as planned!
It has been months of great anguish for my brothers and me, and also for my mom, obviously, although she did not show it, but we are very grateful.
Throughout the whole process God put wonderful people in our way, who allowed us to go through this ordeal, and for whom we have no words to describe our infinite gratitude:
First of all, the treating doctors and nurses, who at all times cared for us lovingly and diligently.
To the Zcash community, for supporting us and donating; to Free2z, for being a wonderful and easily accessible tool.
To my dad, Roosevelt Gordones, for teaching me about Zcash and Free2z, for spreading the word about our campaign on his social networks and for always being there for my brothers and my mom. And to Aura Brito, who was always watching and spreading the campaign as well.
To the friends my mom made along the way, in each chemotherapy session. Wonderful people who also have their stories and testimonies, but who always provided encouragement and positivity.
To my siblings, for being a family amalgam and for always being there, supporting my mom's care.
To Vladimir, "El Negro", my mom's husband, who has always been there and has never left her alone throughout this process.
To all the strangers who donated, contributed and shared this campaign.

We are very happy and we will have a well deserved Christmas with our family.
As a final message, I can only tell you to always be there for your family and for whoever needs it. Sometimes we do not value the power that can have a gesture of help, a retweet, a repost, a comment of encouragement or good vibes. It can make all the difference. It all adds up. And you all added up.

¡Saludos, amigos!
Tenía tiempo sin pasar por acá para dejarles una actualización del caso de mi mamá.
Para los que lean esto por primera vez, pueden leer mis publicaciones anteriores haciendo click aquí. Así podrán saber lo que pasó con mi mamá y el porqué de esta campaña que hoy felizmente llega a término.
Mi última actualización fue en el mes de agosto. La pueden ver aquí.
De agosto a noviembre mi mamá pasó por un duro proceso de quimioterapia, en el que poco a poco fue perdiendo su cabello, pero nunca su fe en Dios y su optimismo. De hecho, Marbelis, mi mamá, era quien nos infundía fuerza a todos en casa, a mis hermanos y a mí.
Muchas veces mis hermanos y yo nos preocupábamos y estresábamos en silencio, sin que ella se diera cuenta, para no preocuparla; pero ella era quien siempre nos regalaba una sonrisa y una palabra de aliento.
Así, pasaron los 3 meses y las 8 sesiones de quimio. Con dieta, cuidados, reposo y mucha fe, llegamos a noviembre.
En noviembre volvimos a hacerle los exámenes a mi mamá, ¡y cuál fue la sorpresa!
Los médicos estaban impresionados: el tumor, que inicialmente medía 2,8 cm de diámetro, pasó a medir tan solo 0,2 cm. ¡Casi se desapareció!
Los médicos nos indicaron que gracias al buen estado de salud de mi mamá, su cuerpo respondió adecuadamente al tratamiento, con apenas debilitamiento por la quimioterapia.
¿Cuál era el paso siguiente?
La extracción del tumor.
Se fijó la fecha de operación para el pasado 12/12/22, y luego de la angustiosa espera, los médicos nos dieron la buena noticia: ¡Todo había salido bien!
Ha sido extraída completamente la lesión, o tumor, que tenía mi mamá en su seno izquierdo. Por precaución, también le fueron extraídos 2 ganglios. Y se hizo una nueva biopsia para descartar totalmente la presencia de células malignas en el cuerpo de mi mamá.
¡Todo ha salido a pedir de boca!
Han sido meses de mucha angustia para mis hermanos y para mí, y también para mi mamá, obviamente, aunque ella no lo demostrara, pero estamos muy agradecidos.
En todo el proceso Dios puso en nuestro camino a personas maravillosas, que nos permitieron llevar adelante esta prueba, y para los cuales no tenemos palabras para describir nuestro infinito agradecimiento:
Primero que nada, los médicos tratantes y enfermeras, que en todo momento nos atendieron cariñosa y diligentemente.
A la comunidad de Zcash, por apoyarnos y donar; a Free2z, por ser una herramienta maravillosa y de fácil acceso.
A mi papá, Roosevelt Gordones, por enseñarme la existencia de Zcash y Free2z, por difundir nuestra campaña en sus redes sociales y estar siempre ahí para mis hermanos y mi mamá. Y a Aura Brito, quien siempre estuvo pendiente y difundiendo la campaña también.
A los amigos que mi mamá hizo en el camino, en cada sesión de quimioterapia. Gente maravillosa que también tiene sus historias y testimonios, pero que siempre aportaron aliento y positivismo.
A mis hermanos, por ser amalgama familiar y estar siempre allí, apoyando en el cuidado de mi mamá.
A Vladimir, “El Negro”, esposo de mi mamá, que siempre estuvo allí y nunca la ha dejado sola en todo este proceso.
A todos los desconocidos que donaron, aportaron y compartieron esta campaña.
