Just a few months before, I too fell victim to a scam. I had a brand-new graphics card that I was trying to sell, so I listed it on an online marketplace, such as Souq.com.
One day, I received a message from a person who was interested in the product. I told him the price and the cost of international shipping, and he said that he was okay with the deal. He asked for my bank details,and i gave him all detail so that he can proceed to bank transfer.
He then sent me a receipt of a bank transfer, asking me to ship the product as soon as possible because he wanted to give it as a gift to his wife.
To my regret, I shipped the product with the shipping cost to the buyer, thinking that I would receive the payment in my bank. However, I kept waiting, but the money never came.I contacted the buyer that i have not received the money .And at that he buyer had receive the graphic card which i have sended him .And he had confirmed that he receive it by sending photo of the graphic card.And after that he said that the transfer that he made was cancelled and he will send money soon. So then message him about the payment ,and he also tell me that he bussy and when he will get free he will send the money.But that day never came .So after 15 days I contacted the police in the buyer's country and provided them with all the details, such as the tracking number, chat history, and documents.
Unfortunately, the police replied that they couldn't do anything about the situation. I was told that I would have to visit the scammers country and make a complaint against the scammer.And till this date i have not receive any money from that scammer nor any reply from the police.
